Drop it like it’s MODERN

Admit it! We’ve all made the mistake of writing off some trend sure that it could never, would never, should never make it back into our closets and yet somehow you let a decade go by and suddenly you find yourself sneaking a second look at those jean jacket’s, side pony’s and hoop earrings and you have to admit… You rock it even better than you did the first time you tried it!  I guess a decade must have passed because the days of cheesy, out dated backdrops are gone! No more scoffing at the idea of backgrounds as you imagine chain store “garden drops” and the choice between grey, blue and green “haze” from your day’s of school pictures. Just like the side ponytail… Backdrops are back in style and I have to say, like the side pony I rocked for my date on Friday night, they are looking more chic than ever! Thanks to DROP IT MODERN, backdrops are more than cool again – they’re the it thing! I first became aware of Drop it Modern during one of my many nights of blog hopping when I discovered someone using something very cool! It got your attention with a trendy “pop” that left you wanting more! I’m always looking for ways to make myself stand out for my clients from wonderfully put together Welcome Packets to amazing customer service and onto fabulous images. It’s important to me that as many parts of my business as possible have a wow factor to them. If I can bring in elements that they’ve never seen anywhere else… I know I’m on the right track! When I saw the backdrops by Drop it Modern, I knew I’d found my newest wow factor! So last year at WPPI I made sure I stopped by to take a look and check quality. Oh–my–word! The quality is amazing, there is texture and vibrancy, the fabric has a nice weight to it… You can feel the quality! Even with bringing my portable backdrops to clients homes I knew I could rock these!

I want to be able to offer certain aspects of my work as standard options. Sometimes I think photographers work so hard to always be fresh and creative that they don’t let their clients get to know and expect certain things… Things they can come to ask for and want. I have your standard black, white and grey but I wanted to offer something different! Something that everyone else wouldn’t be offering in my area. Something that really said, ‘I’m trendy and fresh and chic… and oh yes, you want me!’ Drop it Modern does all that for me while at the same time, helping me get to feel creative and think outside the box. I love them and I couldn’t wait to tell you about them! Awesome, right?!?! So who’s behind these amazing backdrops? Well a photographer of course! Breanne Schapp went to find backdrops for her studio only to be sorely disappointed – so she took matters into her own hands and created the uber fab drops of Drop It MODERN! Here are just a few amazing things that she’s done with the backdrops…

Inspired yet? Me too! My only problem… I want the entire collection! I think Wonderland (it will be beautiful for Christmas and Newborns! Or maybe next on my list is Seahorse — or maybe Poppy?
